Wait, didn’t we just have a major release last week? Yep, but we have more features to add!

This release introduces schedule timing to the duration view. Now you can automatically set the timing of each scene as you resize its duration. Check it out below!

Duration View Timing

Duration view has always let you set how long each scene takes. Now it can automatically tell you what time each scene starts.

Enter the call time, then resize your strips to set their durations. Think Crew takes it from there and automatically calculates the time of day for every breakdown on the board. Stretch a scene by an hour and everything after it shifts automatically, so you can see right away whether that big exterior still lands in daylight or that the sunlight for that interior scene will be coming through the windows at the right angle.

That means you can do your entire schedule timing without leaving duration view. No separate spreadsheet, no adding up durations by hand to figure out what time you’ll be shooting each scene.

There’s even an icon next to the time of day denoting whether the scene will take place at night, dawn, day or dusk.

And once you have it the way you want it, you can print it. Duration views are now printable, so your timing can be distributed just like the rest of your schedule.

New Category By Day Report

The new Category by Day report shows you every element working in that category by shoot day.

Pick any category – choose background and you have your daily background numbers. Choose vehicles, props, stunts, or any department you track, and you have a day by day report ready to hand off to your UPM, department heads or background casting.

It is a quick way to give each department a clear picture of what is coming without rebuilding the information yourself.

• More keyboard support. The delete key now works on strips, and Command-A selects all of them. The same shortcuts work in the managers, along with Option-Command-E to create a new item. Small changes, but they add up over a long session of board work.
• User time format preference. Choose standard or military time in your settings. Whichever you pick controls how time is displayed everywhere across the site, so your schedules match the way your production actually talks about time. You’ll find the time format preference in your user profile settings.
• A new variable: {board_date}. Use it in a schedule that has day strips and it displays the shoot date where that banner is positioned. Handy for automatically listing shoot dates without having to manually type them.
• A faster Think Crew. We made speed improvements throughout the site, with the biggest gains in your schedules. Large boards load quicker and feel more responsive as you work.
